Staffordshire Dessert Bowl-Rare
Click thumbnails for expanded view.
This Staffordshire Crown Clarence dessert/berry bowl is in excellent condition. There is some crazing from age and use which only adds to the vintage charm. Pattern is "Byron" Color is blue and sometimes looks green depending on the lighting...I guess you would call the color Teal. There is a beautiful country cottage scene in the center with a pretty leafy pattern around the rim. No chips or cracks. They are made of pottery, not porcelain. I have many more pieces in my store as well as a full set of service for four! This is a beautiful pattern and a must see in person. Very decorative as well as useful and would be beautiful all set up on your vintage Shabby Chic china hutch!
A piece of the makers history: The company that made the Crown Clarence line is JH Cope and Co. and went out of business in 1946. This company was in business for a short while from 1887-1946. They are also known for their Windsor and Balmoral names.
