Super Scarce Springfield M1922 M II 22 LR target rifle. Minty example of this wonderful target rifle built in the early 1940s. All markings indicate that this was born an M-I and that the Armory upgraded it to the M-II configuration. The stock is an M-I stock with M-II butt plate. The receiver shows a second ï¿½Iï¿½ stamped next to the original ï¿½M Iï¿½. The serial number has the letter ï¿½Bï¿½ added as a suffix indicating Armory rework or upgrade. All bolt markings are M 2 markings. The 24-inch barrel is marked ï¿½S.A 6-42ï¿½, for ï¿½Springfield Armory June 1942ï¿½, and ï¿½LONGRIFLE CARTï¿½GE ONLYï¿½ on left side of barrel adjacent to receiver. Receiver stampings: ï¿½U.S. SPRINGFIELD ARMORY M1922 M11 CAL 22 1170 Bï¿½. Bolt handle stamped with ï¿½N.S. M2ï¿½ and bolt body stamped with ï¿½M2ï¿½. Walnut stock. With the rare to find original leather shoulder strap. Five shot magazine. In very good condition and would make an impressive addition to any fine collection.
