This wonderful Christmas ornament was created by artist Lynn Norton for Hallmark Cards in 2000 and is the fourth in the Sky's the Limit series and is hard to find.
The small, custom built RYAN airplane named "Spirit of St. Louis" awakened the world to the possibility of long distance flight on May 20, 1927. The first ever nonstop transatlantic crossing covered the 3610 miles from New York to Paris in just over 33.5 hours. Piloted by Charles A Lindbergh, the highly modified RYAN M-1 airplane held one person and 400 gallons of fuel. A fuel tank blocked the pilot's forward view. Only one NYP plane was built.
The ornament is in excellent condition. The box is also in excellent condition and has the original price tag in tact. Comes with a card advertising the Hallmark Legends of Flight collectible series.
