Fantastic marine subject soup tureen with charging tray,Italian made in 1949 by the famous maker AGMA one of the oldest in Italy located in Milano . Completely hand made in 800 silver, chased and embossed very deeply, with a great attention for every detail, typical workmanship of the Italian silversmithing school of that period . Embossed fishes, starfishes, shrimps,crabs, squids all around the body and on the base . All around the boarder there is a crown of various embossed shells, side handles are a combination between crabs and shells, the knob is finely represented by a octopus . As told the soup tureen is completely embossed on the body and on the base . Look carefully the pictures, this kind of work requires an expert worker, this is all embossing hand made no casted applications ! The maker has made unique this work of art, with a gold plating comination to contrast the silver color . Tureen sizes are Height 11.41 in. ( 29 cm.) 15.74 in. ( 40 cm.) x 7.48 ( 19 cm.) . The soup tureem is enriched with a oval charging tray embossed in the same marine motive, 17.71 in. ( 45 cm.) x 14.17 in. ( 36 cm.) . Total Weight 134.34 oz. ( 4178 grams) .
