Sorrento Ware Inlaid Olive and Micro Mosaic Puzzle Box, Circa 1890; featuring a lid with a painted scene depicting three birds surrounded with a border of geometrically inlaid motifs; the frieze with eleven faux books over the base painted with floral swigs. The tricks are accomplished by sliding the bottom plinth, releasing the middle book to reveal the escutcheon and allowing access to the side by a hidden panel.
