This is a nice solid walnut Chippendale blanket chest. It has an interior till and shelf and wonderful pegged construction throughout. This piece has a Germanic influence but was most likely made in Pennsylvania. It is defiantely American with poplar as a secondary wood. Crab lock is in working order and is period. However, it is not original to the piece. The feet are original as well. The hand dovetails are wonderful. All in all, this is a nice blanket chest.
