This is a great solid walnut blanket chest with three drawers, ogee brachet feet, and great pegged construction. Poplar is the secondary wood. The applied moulding is pegged, too. The top has breadboard ends. Even the hardware is original. Please note that one post and rosette are missing. I would recommend having the originals copied. The finish is the only thing not original on the piece. According to family history and experience I would estimate that the piece was refinished about 30 to 50 years ago. As a plus, the family history is attatched inside the till. This piece has Germanic construction influences and was made in Philadelphia, Pennslyvania. This is an outstanding piece.
