What a fabulous walnut Victorian dining table. This hard to find small sized, generously carved, 45” table expands to a whopping 10’ long! The table currently has no leaves but we can arrange to have them made. Another more economical option is to have simple plywood leaves cut to fit and cover with a table cloth – no one will be the wiser. The top has a lovely figured walnut graining and a moulded edge. Check out the dramatically designed and finely carved, sensuous looking table skirt. There are 4 large clusters of fruit and 4 smaller single fruits surrounding the skirt. Some of the fruit represented are grapes, pomegranates, apples and pears. Notice the unusually configured table base which consists of 3 separate pieces. Each leg has boldly carved clusters of fruit on their knee with additional carvings extending along the curvaceous legs. The turned center leg, dramatic in size and detailing, provides the necessary support when the table is fully extended. The table runners or glides open and close smoothly. The table rests on its original porcelain casters. Tables of this small size that can expand to seat 10-12 people with such exuberant carvings are extremely hard to find. The carvings are exceptional and the finish is in excellent condition having a deep, rich color.
