Sterling silver top to this walking cane. It has a scroll design in the silver. Cane is 86 cm long (33.3/4 inches). It is 1.8 cm thick at the top of the wood area tapering down to 1.5 cm at the ferrule (3/4 inch to 5/8 inch). No visible hallmarks on the silver, which is as usual, dinged a bit and has one tear which has been pressed back together. The shaft of the stick has a stippled effect, caused by aging of the varnish. It still has its original ferrule to the base tip of the shaft. This is possibly brass. Cane would date late 19th century.
