SILVER SKULL CANE/KNOBKERRIE WITH HIDDEN COMPARTMENT
This unique swagger stick sports a large sterling silver skull handle and has two ulterior purposes----it is a knobkerrie, or form of club, originally used by tribal elders in Africa as a weapon., and it has a velvet-lined storage area containing glass bottles that you could fill with whatever you wanted to put in them. The hefty weight of the skull, which measures 4" x 4" x 2-3/4" inches, packs a mean wallop. The skull tops a dense hardwood shaft, terminating in a bi-metal ferrule. But, as you can see, the top of the skull is hinged and conceals several glass bottles which could be used for medicinal purposes perhaps. This is one of the most unusual walking sticks I've ever encountered and a perfect accessory for nighttime walks. 36 inches overall.
