A sterling silver cased bottle - it is a glass bottle with a little pewter topped cork stopper, with an elaborate cut work silver casing. The silver is open work acanthus scrolls and flowers. It carries an English hallmark for Birmingham 1898. Maker’s stamp is A.W.P. The presentation panel is engraved with the beautifully detailed initials “E.N.” (Or “N.E.” depending on which way you think it goes). There are some faults - there are a few dents in the silver, and areas of loss to the silver, one very small area by the hallmark, and a larger area to the bottom left of the presentation panel. However, because of the busyness on the design, these are not glaringly obvious. This is a very pretty little bottle from an old family estate. Measures 13cm high (5.1/4 inches) and 5cm diameter (2 inches.)
