For the Victorian homemaker with everything: a biscuit warmer. This silverplate apparatus keeps biscuits or buns warm in clam shell shaped bowls. In the upright position, it is easily carried to the table. To enjoy your buns, open the shell and fold up the pierced lids.

The shells are chased with a floral and leaf pattern. The stand is molded to resemble twigs. This biscuit warmer is fancier than many we've seen without going over the top.

Opened, it measures 12" x 6.75." We cannot find any hallmarks so the manufacturer and exact age are unknown. We do know that it is silverplate and we believe it is English.
