This rare Sherman Bros. & Co's roll top commercial tea bin is in good condition considering it's age. There are some dings and dents on this piece but the paint on this grocery store tole tea bin is in reasonably good condition. These bins were produced after tea's introduction to grocery stores. These containers which were usually decorated with Japanned finishes came into use aound the Civil War era. Because of their limited number and the demise of the country store, these are some of the most sought after and expensive tea containers to collect. Slant tops or roll bottoms are the most desirable.
