Here is a wonderful period sheraton mahogany game table made about 1820. This game table has a one board top with turret corners embellished with tombstone design ( in colonial times these were called porridge corners). The apron of this table features bold crotch grain mahogany figureing and a serpentine form. A swinging gateleg allows the top to fold down and expand the surface of the table to 35 1/2 by 35 1/2 inches. Dovetailed case joinery is visible behind the gateleg which is done in superb execution. The table tops are made from solid one board pieces. This table has the handmade brass and iron hinges plus handmade screws to validate its manufacture about 1820. A professional repair has been made to a large crack and bow in the single board, fold down top. The top now lays flat and looks GREAT!!! This piece has been professionally restored, reglued and repaired so it is ready for you home...it is in excellent condition. I will not sell anything that has loose fitting legs, joints or unsightly repairs done by amateurs.
