This Pennsylvania bow front chest of drawers is from the Sheraton period. The dresser has solid cherry top and sides with mahogany on all the drawer fronts. This combination is often seen with Pennsylvania furniture of this period. The bowfront hand dovetailed drawers are graduated in size, having their original locks and key escutcheons. The round brass pulls are excellent period looking replacements. Notice the delicate reeding on the front corners of the chest. The left side has some very slight loss to the left corner – nothing offensive. The chest has recessed paneled sides and rests on tall turned feet. All the drawers open and close smoothly. The finish is in excellent condition having a rich color and patina.
