This is a very unusual large plate, charger or cabinet plate made by Shelley China, England in the Oleander shape with a pale blue outer rim and dark blue trim and a design of 2 birds in a forest setting that I have been informed by an Australian friend are kookaburras. The large bone china plate has no pattern number and I have not seen one in 20 years of dealing in Shelley China, nor is it mentioned in any of my Shelley references. It came in a Shelley collection from England I recently acquired. The plate is in very good +++ condition with no chips or cracks. There is a .5 inch area of wear on one pattern rib and 2 small utensil marks. A neat and very collectible item from an outstanding manufacturer.
