Offering this nice hard to find 8" long x 1/4" wide at tip, flat blade type screwdriver, clearly marked "SHELLEY BRITISH MADE." on the steel. There is no English export maker's symbol or marks, so this is most likely a later manufacturing date of a 19th century style screwdriver. This is a good useable tool. The wood handle is in good solid, tightly attached, with a good heavy steel slotted ferrule keeping it tightly attched to the blade. The wood has some wear, but maintains the about 90% of it's original bulbus shape. There is some dings and minor pitting noted on the blade, not rusty, clean and in good+ condition overall. There are benifits to this design, as a wrench can be used on the flat section to gain extra leverage, plus the handle shape fit the human hand so much better than many modern designs! A rarely seen antique British toolmaker from the late 1800's-1930's era!
