Shell Research 1948 Ad. This color August 29, 1948 ad states Less wear on the Rainmaker. In this case the rainmaker is a diesel engine driving an irrigation pump lifting water to the higher levels, where gravity takes over and distributes it to thirsty soil. Picture by Siebel shows farmer opening water gate to irrigate farm land. Magazine tear sheet picture is taken through plastic and may show wrinkles or crookedness that is not in the ad.
