FRANCE, Early 1900s
This group of six French painted side chairs is in the Louis XV style. They have been recently upholstered in a white cotton muslin, ready for the material of your choice. The paint colors are in the Provence colors of grey with a tint of pale blue and a cream/white has been put on the raised surfaces of the ornamentation. The ornamentation on the backs, rails, and knees is the floret. The shoulders have a ruffled acanthus design. The cabriole legs have a very sinuous curved raised molding ending in a stylized whorl foot. These chairs are extremely comfortable and will complement any table.
