Set of 7 Hand-Painted Minton Cabinet Plates

Included here is a set of seven hand-painted and gilded cabinet plates by Minton, dating from 1876. The paintings are not signed. Rear of the plates carry the impressed MINTON mark and the date code for 1876 which is a triangle within a circle. (Source: thepotteries.org.) Each plate measures 9.25" (23.5 cm) in diameter and the entire set weighs 6 lbs. (2.7 kg). Each is in excellent condition. There are no chips, repairs or visible cracks. There is very little wear to the painted and gilt decoration. Each depicts a unique country landscape scene. Subjects include: thatched roof homes, waterfalls, bridges, grazing cattle, medieval ruins, and forests. This set resides in our client's place in Westchester County NY and may be seen by appointment. Additional images forwarded upon request. ( dualant )
