This is a set of antique chairs that is being sold as a set of 2 but is part of a 4-piece set. The other 2 pieces are available in our store so be sure to check them out. Here we have one armchair and one rocking chair. These chairs are made of dark oak and have matching deep red velvet upholstery. The backrest on each chair is tall with a gentle curve for comfort. The crest rail has a grape cluster carved in it and the seat rail is curved on both chairs. The chair stiles, arms, front legs and seat rail are fluted. There are casters on all 4 feet of the armchair. The rocker appears to have had the edge of the top leaf on the crest rail grape cluster knocked off at some point but it has been sanded smooth and is not noticeable at all. See the pictures below. These chairs are in excellent condition the upholstery has no rips, tears, stains or odors. I do not know the maker or exact date they were made. Measurements are: Armchair; 43 1/4 inches tall, 22 3/8 inches side to side and 31 ½ inches front to back. It weighs 33 pounds. Rocking Chair; 42 5/8 inches tall, 23 ¼ inches side to side and 37 ¼ inches front to back. It weighs 34 pounds. We do have more photographs that we can email if you are interested.
