This lovely set of solid mahogany dining chairs consists of 4 side chairs and 2 armchairs. The armchairs measure 37” tall, 23” wide and 23” deep. Their simple Hepplewhite styling lends themselves to work well with Duncan Phyfe dining tables and other similar Federal designs. Look carefully and you will see some unique detailing. The top of each chair has an applied panel of dramatic flame mahogany. There is delicate line inlay along the tall, tapered legs and the seat rail. Each chair seat has its own needlework design incorporating fruits and leaves. All the chair frames are tight having no breaks or repairs. The needlepoint is in excellent condition and the colors are vibrant. There is some very slight soiling which can be removed with proper cleaning. There are no stains. Their finish appears original and is in excellent condition having a deep, rich color and patina.
