The husband and wife team of Ellen Hughes and George Thompson moved from Fairbanks Alaska to Carlisle Pennsylvania in 1988 to pursue their dream of opening a 'not your typical antique shop'. Ellen, a former school teacher and George, a previous business owner, have been collectors since childhood. They began their antique business with an emphasis on Sheraton, Empire and Victorian furniture. As their inventory and breadth of knowledge grew, they obtained a large building in the historic district of Carlisle. Since 1990 they have committed themselves full time to the task of providing the finest and largest selection of 1820's thru 1920's formal furniture in south central PA.
