Daphne took the familiar road to being an antique dealer by becoming a collector first. She especially loved Haviland china and copper kitchen articles. In 1984 she began her professional life as a dealer at the Regent Street Antique Center in Saratoga Springs, New York. China remained a mainstay but was supplemented with furniture and silver. Over the years she has focused more on the silver than anything else. Recently this focus has been more on early 1800âs and before. She has however kept a good inventory of late 19th century and early 20th century flatware and hollowware. She buys what she loves and always with the notion that it is something that she would want in her own home. The industry has seen a large influx of reproductions and outright fakes. Daphne will stand behind her merchandise being what she says it is. If it is not, bring it back. Any reproduction or new merchandise will be clearly marked as such. Through out the year, Daphne can be found at several antique shows in the Northeast. Stellaâs Triple Piers and Antiques at the Piers, Renningers Valley Forge, Farmington, Tiverton, Rhode Island and Linda Turnerâs shows in Manchester, Vermont.
