Thank you for the opportunity. I first got into the antiques business in the mid seventies. having newly arrived in Orange County, NY, I rented a small workshop in Greenwood Lake. I went to auctions, bought turn of the century furniture that needed a little help and refurbished it in my workshop. At the end of the week I loaded everything into my van and drove to a huge flea market in Englishtown, NJ at 6 a.m. every Saturday. Every week I sold everything in my van in 30 minutes and drove home.
After a couple of years, the chemicals started effecting me adversely so I had to stop. Recently Jan, my fiance', and I started going to auctions after opening a small spot in Village Antiques Center in Hyde Park, NY. We fell in love with the excitement of finding treasures and playing with them before we offered them for sale. It's like Christmas every day!
This is our first experience with selling via the web. How exciting to sell something after only the first day! Someone once said to us; "We are guardians of our ancestors' treasures." That's exactly how we feel about this adventure.
