Coconut Shell Dipper with handle of whale ivory, baleen, ebony and mahogany complete with ivory swing ring. Mid 19th century, in excellent original condition. Coconut dippers lasted much longer when used for scooping dry items such as grains or coffee, than they did when used for labeling liquids. Length 17", Coconut scoop 4-1/2"x4-3/4" diameter.
