Unusual,Scottish majolica bread box, heavy early 19th century hand painted and crafted in gorgeous colors for storing bread. The earthenware piece has handles on either side for lifting and raised designs on all sides of curving stemmed plants and leaves. Rolled upper edge with small designs. Mottled blue, green, brown and cream overall. No longer has the majolica lid after all these years but still excellent to use for a fabulous jardiniere, planter or decorative piece for the fireplace storing kindling. Still in excellent condition with exception to a minor crack down the inside back on one side as seen just into the glazing and not the majolica, does not affect the stability or use of the piece. Measures 12L with handles X 9.5D X 8.5H.Can ship Fed Ex Grd or Saver with your zip code.
