Samuel Huntington SIGNED The Royal Dictionary. Huntington served the United States of America as the first President of the United States in Congress Assembled. Many believe that with this title, Huntington earned the right to be known as the first President of the United States. Huntington represented the state of Connecticut in the Continental Congress, signed the Declaration of Independence and the Articles of Confederation. This copy of 'The Royal Dictionary Abridged in Two Parts: French and English / English and French' was originally owned by Samuel Huntington and bears his signature on the first page of the original text. The book is signed by Samuel Huntington, who added '1780' to his name. Signature page exhibits repair as was once torn. Book bears slight soiling and foxing due to age. Retains original boards although a new spine and endpapers have been added. Fair condition.
