This is a wonderful vintage Navajo necklace. When I first saw it at auction it was almost black. What stood out was this stunning Turquoise. This piece has no markings but as Barton Wright say's in his book, Hallmarks of the Southwest "...artisans of great merit would have found the signing or marking of their work inconceivable. This is particularly true when the available market consists only of the members of your own village, all of whom are aware of every other person's capabilities" I did acid test it and it's .925 sterling silver. This piece is 17" long and the turquoise is 7/8" long by 1/2" wide & it weighs 26.6g.
