From Safavid dynasty (1502-1736 AD) Persian paper-mache, polychrome lacquer pen-box Qalamdan with rounded ends and sliding tray. Details: beautifully hand painted with gold pattern on dark navy background that imitates designs of the 17th century Persian silk fabrics. Condition: lacquer is in good condition except for some minor chips. Dimensions: length: 11 ½ inches (29,3cm), high: 2 ½ inches (6,4cm).
