This fine patinated bronze depicting jockey on race horse is from a model by Isador Bonheur (1827-1901) measures 14 1/8 inches (36 cm) tall. It dates from the last quarter of the nineteenth century and was retailed in Paris by Maison Boudet. It is signed I BONHEUR, stamped PEYROL with inscription BOUDET 43 Bd DES CAPUCINES, the mark of the foundry of Hippolyte Peyrol. Provenance upon request.
