This is a nice clean, antique flat, beveled edge, wood chisel with the socket type handle. The width is 1 3/4" x 13.75" long overall. It is marked "RUSSELL BROTHERS NEW YORK" on the steel, and they are believed to be in business in the mid-1800's. The steel is in great shape, no rust, very sharp. The handle is very solid, with the iron ferrule fitted end, in good solid shape overall, fits the socket well, some minor wood grain separations note, but very solid. Both the steel and the wood are in great shape overall. A nice quality steel, sharp chisel!
