A wonderful vintage 14K gold brooch depicting Friday's Child holding a small poodle atop baroque pearl clouds. The back of the brooch is inscribed "Friday's child is loving and giving" and signed 14K Ruser. Ruser was an American jeweler best known in the 50s and 60s for figural jewelry with freshwater pearls. The Child and dog both have little sapphire eyes. The piece measures 2 1/2" in height and the clouds are 1 1/4" in width. It is quite a solid piece of gold weighing 31.3 grams. Condition is excellent.
