Rozenburg den Haag plateel vase, art nouveau, Holland (the Hague) circa 1890's. Inscriptions on bottom: WP LVV 91 , a K and a + in an oval. There are other marks not easily legible. The style is an Art Nouveau period interpretation of Persian design and depicts lilies; vases of this decoration theme with the same glaze colors and decoration style have been attributed to Theodore Adriaan Christiaan Colenbrander or WP Hartgring. In good condition, but does have a half-oval crack that needs restoration, small chips of glaze are missing along the crack. This crack starts at the rim and goes down in to the body of the vase before turning back up and going to the other side of the rim. In spite of the crack, this exquisite vase is worthy of being displayed and treasured for the beauty and execution of the intricate design as well as the subtle shading of colors. The longer one looks at this vase, the deeper the appreciation of it becomes! Craquelure of the glaze over the entire piece, appropriate to the age of the piece.
