This is a lovely large bone china pomander or pot pourri holder from England made by the Royal Windsor China, England for Woods of Windsor perfumeries, in England in the 1970s. The pomander measures 3 inches in diameter by 3 inches high and has it's original gold hanging cord, rubber stopper and even some pot pourri inside. The pretty ceramic pomander has birds and fruit baskets and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or wear. Pomanders were developed in the 1500s to scent clothing, bedding and closets and to scent a room to disguise the medieval smells of no drains.
