So delicate you can see the shadows of your hand when you hold this piece of Royal Copenhagen porcelain up to the light, this piece, we believe, is not a saucer but perhaps a dessert plate. It does have a circle in the center very slightly ridged, but all photos that we have researched, show saucers are more deep with an up-turned rim. All edges feature a half-lace trim with inserts of blue color in the lace. Can you imagine painting a piece such as this? Time-consuming for sure and certainly a talented artist would be required! The back is marked in green "Royal Copenhagen" with a crown in the center of the two words. What we find interesting is the piece is marked 1 over 1035 and we believe this was the first piece made in this series. The three wave mark is in blue and there is an "x i" next to the wave mark. Perhaps that was the signature or mark of the artist. This piece of porcelain came out of an estate purchased from a lady who had reached the age of 97. It had belonged to her mother. who was married to a boat captain.
