For Sale is a wonderfully shaped Vase made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Vase is shaped like a Grecian Urn with 2 Handles. The Pattern or Glaze is known as "Tourmaline".
The Vase depicts a Semi Gloss Blue with a hint of Bronze to Yellow Metallic Glaze at the lip. This very pleasing glaze was created by Roseville to simulate the Semi-Precious Stone (Tourmaline). The Two Molded Handles extend down from the Top and settle at the waist of the vessel. Just a Lovely Shape!!
This Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as I really can't find a single issue with it. The Vase is not signed but shows the number 679 written in a Red Grease Pencil and 1.00 written in a regular pencil. This could have been what it sold for back in the mid to late 1930's. This is known as shape number 679-6" in the Roseville Tourmaline pattern line catalog.
Those of you who collect Tourmaline and want a really great example, Look no Further!! This is an exceptional example of the Tourmaline glaze.
This vase was made circa 1933.
