Up for sale is one of the rarest pieces of Roseville I have ever come across. It is a "Falline" or "Pea Pod" Table Lamp done in the brown or terra cotta tones. The lamp stands and impressive 19" tall and 8" at its widest point. This lamp was made in the middle period of Roseville, circa 1933. The lamp has a 2 light cluster with original pull chains and sockets. In fact, all of the wiring is factory original, right down to the wire and plug. When I purchased this lamp one of the sockets wasn't working. I had to take the lamp apart to fix it. I have shown pictures of the bottom of this Roseville piece which is hidden by the lamp foot when assembled. You can clearly see it is marked with L 50 written in thick red pencil and the letter "M". I firmly believe this was Roseville's way of marking their vases designated to be lamps. The L stood for "Lamp" and the 50 being the 50th Falline Lamp assembled. The letter "M" was probably the Artist initial who worked on the vase. You can see the factory drilled pipe hole for lamp assembly and a chip coming off the hole. This was probably done at the time of drilling and is insignificant in hurting the value. You can also see the Original Roseville Gold Foil Label. The lamp is considered to be in excellent condition as there is only a tiny nick on the inside of one of the handles and minimum paint nicks off the painted hardware. The vase that made up this lamp is the 650-6 shape and is valued at around $500-$800. This pattern has always been a continuous favorite of the Arts and Crafts aficionados. You Falline Collectors Don't let this one pass you by!! When was the last time you saw a Falline Table Lamp???
