For Sale is a beautiful example of Rookwood's Z Line in an attractive matte mauve glaze with blue speckling throughout. This nice squat form with an Incised Geometric Design around the rim will enhance any Art Pottery Arts and Crafts collection. If you are decorating in a Mission style this will make a great cabinet piece. The glaze is similar to those produced by Hampshire, Grueby, Roseville, Weller, Teco and Zanesville Art pottery of the same era. This piece is an extremely RARE find in this condition. The bottom is marked with Rookwood's reverse R and sunburst logo. It also has the number I which stands for 1901 and the number 8 for the mold number and the letter Z for this particular Z Line. Just the mold number being only an 8 tells you how early this piece really is. The vase is in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, damage, or repairs of any kind.
