Rome Savings Bank, Rome, New York. Patented Aug 4, 1908. This is a 5.25" tall rectangle still bank. Constructed of steel. Front plaque reads "Rome Savings Bank # 363, Rome, New York". The change slot is on the top front. There is a hole on the right side that has "Bills" imprinted above. The top reads "For Coin Only". There is a hinged loop on the top back reads "PAT'D Aug 4, 08. When unlocked, inside bottom plate reads "BC87". The body of the bank is black with bronze waves . When the bank is turned upside down, an inside flap slides down to close the coin opening, so it is not possible to shake the bank to make coins fall out.
