Large painting by local Sarasota artist Arlie Gray
Arlie Gray was a painter and teacher, born and raised in Kentucky. He published 4 how-to books on painting 1959-1961. Some time after that he moved to Central Florida and made his home in Sarasota. As a painter he is best known for his pictures of Florida, its beaches, estuaries and swamps with tall, swaying pines, aquatic birds and old, moss-draped oaks.
The subject of this picture is a fish camp on an inland river. A blue crane stands in the foreground and the water winds into the distance past a a clutch of palm trees catching the late day in their fronds.

Measurements Canvas: 29-3/4 x 24 inches. Frame: 38-1/2 x 32-1/2 inches.
Very good condition. No flaking paint, tears or surface damage to the canvas.The frame is chipped along the top right.
