This NORITAKE CEREAL/SOUP BOWL is in extremely good condition. It is the CORTEZ PATTERN from ca. 1911. This pattern was discontinued by this company in 1918. The marking is a green stamp with an "M" in the wreath which was later changed to an "N" for Noritake instead of the owners name. It also states, "U. S. Design Pat. applied for". Made in Nagoya, Japan. The bowl's weight is 12 oz. It is 7 3/8" in diameter and 1 1/2" tall. No chips, cracks, or repairs. The bottom of the bowl is white, then it has a thin circle around the the bowl with ivory color above almost to the rim. The rim is trimmed with blue bars and yellow circles with four evenly spaced urns of flowers. Nice piece. Please check out the other items I have for sale on this site.
