Since 1901, the Joint Congressional Committee on the Inauguration plans and oversees every inauguration of each president from the US Capitol. As the Committee, they issue engraved invitations, both official and honorary. This is an honorary invitation for the Inauguration of Richard M. Nixon as president of the United States and Spiro Agnew as vice president on January 20, 1973. The color photo is not part of the official inaugural ceremonies, but is included here as part of the set only.
