Beautifully engraved certificate from the Republic of China issued in 1923. This historic document has an ornate border around it. This item is over 80 years old. Over 40 unused coupons attached not shown in scan. EF Condition. The bond was issued to finance the building of a main line railway between Lanchow and Haichow. Interest payments were made up to 1939, but because of the World War II, China defaulted. After the war, there was a revolution in China and never made good on these bonds.
