This one-of-a-kind rose chair was commissioned by Taiwan's National Palace Museum for their 1996 Special Exhibition of Furniture & Furnishings in Paintings. Based on the type of chair seen in the painting entitled "Eighteen Scholars of the Tang," this exceptional reproduction conveys a sense of imposing dignity. Featuring a unique wood grain and beautifully detailed brass joinery, the chair has a footrest, low backrest and arm rests. The footrest and the seat are made from a burl wood. The open area in the waist is matched to the open area in the footrest.
