RENE LALIQUE 18K GOLD GLASS PENDANT ART NOUVEAU WOMAN

Unavailable
What can you say but wow. Rene Lalique is the foremost designer of Art Nouveau jewelry of his age. This piece is example of why. It shimmers with golden rays behind a woman that would make Alphonse Mucha jealous. The detailing is amazing when you realize this is done in glass thatis an almost cameo effect with opal on the high points and clear reflecting the golden shimmer behind. Rene made these in a ring, brooch, necklace, bracelet and other forms but this is the only womans head i have been able to find. An incredibly rare and wonderful piece that measures 1.5" top to bottom and 1" in width. Truly an exciting find from a great Maker. Unsigned but unquestionably by Lalique. French eagle head hallmark indicates 18K gold rim. Circa 1905. No damage or repairs.
