Renaissance Revival Antique Carved Walnut Corner Chair

Unavailable
This antique corner chair in carved walnut dates from the Renaissance Revival period of the late nineteenth century, and is likely of German or possibly Italian origin. It has a drop-in seat with relatively new upholstery. It measures 28" wide, 25.5" deep, 30.75" high, and the seat height is 16.5". The chair features a concave shaped foliate-carved crestrail with putti mask in center, and the two splats feature griffins with leaf and vine motif. There are no restorations and the patina is very old. There is a clean break to a small raised foliate carving on the crestrail to the left of the mask, as seen in one image here. This item resides in our client's gallery in Westchester County NY, and may be seen in person by appointment. Additional images forwarded upon request.
