We offer the most incredible item. It is a medieval processional icon with jewel-like enamels of, in the lower section of the visitation of the Magi to the Christ, and in the upper section the image of the Lord God. These two enamel images are encased in a a gilt frame which we believe is plated brass. To the rear is a holder designed for the carrier to slip his fingers to hold up the item for veneration. We believe that this item is a spectacular treasure that should rightly be in a museum. We fully believe that it dates to the renaissance and dates from the 15th century,or conceivanly the 16th. We speculate that the icon was made in Italy, although conceivably it could have been made in Spai. The quality to put it bluntly is spectacular. Given the great value of this item we will have it professionally packed and shipped with full insurance by Mavis, hence the elevated shipping cost.
