An unusual pair of antique cast bronze single-arm sconces, dating from the 1920’s, ornamented with a hard-to-find Scottish thistle motif. The backplate is formed in the shape of a shield, with a single thistle at the bottom and, at the top, a cluster of thistles with a crown. Below, the sconce arm supports a volute bobeche with a foliate finial. These wall lamps are in excellent condition; they have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. Each sconce measures 4-3/8” wide, 9-1/2” tall, and has a projection of 4-3/4”. A matching pair of double-arm sconces (pictured) is also available, listed separately under item # NSP633-RW.
