This is a fabulous original book intitled "The Receipts and Expenditures of the United States in the year 1825". This thick heavy bound volume printed in old rag paper has fascanating detail on the operation of our nation during those early years. There is detailed account of the payment of Indian Spy's and scouts,lighthouse construction up and down our coast. Military records for officers and soldiers mentioned by name so fourth. There is also records for the capture of Pirate ships,Naval battles,slave dealings and much,much more. The book belonged to a gentleman named John Lock. Who was a military hero of the war of 1812. One has to believe this is probaley one of a few known copies to exist. In closing book measures 10 1/2 x 13 1/2 inches.
